-ся verbs
Pronouns already cover себя. This unit is a different verb type: нравиться, учиться, бояться, заниматься — and the case each one takes. Each lesson: How it works → Tables → Notes → Exceptions → Examples.

Lesson 1
-ся is a verb type
Глаголы на -ся
-ся is glued to the verb, not a separate object. Pronouns already cover себя. These verbs often take a case of their own — and many do not mean «oneself» at all.
Lesson 2
нравиться + dative
Нравиться
The person who likes is dative (мне, ему), like мне нужно. The thing liked is the grammatical subject, so нравится / нравятся agrees with that thing — not with мне.
Lesson 3
учиться vs учить
Учиться
учиться is «be a student / study as a lifestyle». учить takes accusative: a lesson, a language, or a person you teach. Don’t paste -ся onto учить and keep the same object.
Lesson 4
бояться + genitive
Бояться
бояться takes genitive of what you fear — the same case Cases already used for absence and «of». You can also fear to do something: бояться + infinitive.
Lesson 5
заниматься + instrumental
Заниматься
заниматься is «be busy with / do as an activity». The activity is instrumental: спортом, музыкой, бизнесом, русским языком. Don’t reuse учиться’s dative here.
